Church and Community Mobilization

Church and Community Mobilization

Church and Community Mobilization Process (CCMP) is a faith-based, participatory development approach that empowers local churches to lead holistic transformation by integrating spiritual values with social and economic action. Rooted in integral mission theology, CCMP promotes community ownership, local resource mobilization, and self-driven development, reducing dependency on external aid. In Teso, churches are among the most trusted institutions, providing moral leadership, social support, and platforms for collective action especially in rural and post-conflict contexts. Having played a key role in healing trauma and rebuilding cohesion after years of insecurity and displacement, faith leaders continue to influence community attitudes and behaviors. However, many churches face capacity gaps in areas such as governance, gender equity, child protection, and integrated development, limiting their effectiveness in addressing poverty, harmful practices, GBV, and environmental degradation. TEDDO’s Church and Community Mobilization Process will strengthen faith leaders and community structures through training, leadership development, and participatory engagement. The program equips churches to mobilize communities, promote inclusion of women, youth, and marginalized groups, and link faith messages with practical actions in education, health, WASH, livelihoods, and environmental stewardship. Overall, CCMP leverages Teso’s strong faith networks and communal values to foster social cohesion, accountability, and resilience, enabling communities to address sensitive issues, drive locally owned development, and sustain positive change beyond individual projects.
